I’ve always had a vision of starting my own business, but I wasn’t sure what direction to take. After conversations with various people, I decided to delve into the metal fabrication industry. Interestingly, it was revealed to me that my grandfather, whom I never had the chance to know, was a renowned welder for his brother’s welding business, Reist Welding, many years ago. With welding in my blood—both my father and uncle have been welders for their entire lives—it felt like a natural path for me to pursue.

In September 2012, I launched my company in the modest confines of my small hobby barn. Equipped with little more than determination, a used stick welder, a grinder, and a single 220v plug, I set out to carve my niche in the industry. As the years passed, I expanded my operations, first by insulating and heating my barn to accommodate a 600 sqft workshop, and in a few years I insulated the rest of the building to give me a total of 3000 sqft of heated shop. Shortly thereafter I purchased a 9000 sqft commercial property in Kenilworth, ON, in June 2017.
